The Invasion

He’d survived that horrific night by fleeing to the basement, a heavy metal door protecting him from the creatures that swarmed his home. They had pounded and clawed at that door until dawn, when they were finally driven back by the new day’s light; that’s when he made his escape and found himself here at the inn.He had arrived at the center of town only to be met with absolute pandemonium – all the townsfolk were rushing about, recounting their own horrid tales, and the message boards were covered with similar reports from other towns. It seemed that hordes of undead creatures had been invading all of Aden. Earlier this morning, and throughout the day, scads of mutilated bodies had been discovered in town, all with expressions of sheer terror frozen on their faces and missing organs… livers, hearts, brains. Bodies were strewn everywhere, tossed aside like wrapping paper on Christmas morning.Now, with dusk just a few short hours away, there is a great concern that last night was only a gruesome prequel to a more elaborate bloodletting still to come. And the dreaded All Hallows’ Eve is fast approaching! What is to be expected then?

Join us on the Depardieu, Ken Rauhel, and Lands of Aden servers for the Hell Devours Aden Event! The mystical barrier separating Hell and Aden is gradually weakening as All Hallows’ Eve draws near, unleashing hordes of ravenous undead throughout Aden and littering the ground with pockets of benevolent and malevolent energy. Following the spirit of the season, there are both tricks and treats to be had: creatures with the ability to temporarily alter your appearance, tasty candies with a variety of effects when eaten, and glowing metallic pumpkins hiding a variety of items inside – including three new items not yet in-game! The event will commence on Friday, October 29th at 2:00 PM CDT, end on Monday, November 1st at 10:00 AM CDT, and include the following:

Friday, October 29th, 2:00 PM CDT through Monday, November 1st, 10:00 AM CDT: Various undead and Halloween-themed monsters throughout Aden will be spawning in much greater numbers than usual and carrying a variety of Pumpkin Candies. Candies will all share the same name, but have various effects upon the player – anywhere from relieving hunger to inducing drunkenness* to healing mana!*Drunkenness will significantly slow your character and alter its ability to move in the direction you choose as well as cause your Game Window to waver. The effect is very short-lived, but requires your character to teleport once the Game Window stops wavering in order to return your character to normal status.

Saturday, October 30th, 10:00 AM CDT through Monday, November 1st, 10:00 AM CDT: Various invisible “traps” will appear throughout Aden with a variety of effects when triggered by player movement over said spots.

Sunday, October 31st, 10:00 AM CDT through Monday, November 1st, 10:00 AM CDT: Special event “bosses” of varying difficulties will appear throughout Aden and have the ability to polymorph their opponents for varying lengths of time; these creatures will also be carrying Bronze, Silver, and Golden Pumpkins, which can be double-clicked to receive a variety of special rewards. Additionally, all players will have access to the polymorph options of Death Knight, Dark Elf, and Kurtz.Please

Note! All unused candies and metallic pumpkins will be removed from the game and are tentatively scheduled for removal during the regular weekly maintenance period on Wednesday, November 10th.
