Damn I'm tired....

Is anyone else tired? I feel I need an extra day or 2 from the July 4th weekend - I'm freaking exhausted. I almost passed out at work yesterday afternoon....gah...

Question for those of you who live in upper Cali - The Bay area - where's a nice place to live around there and where should I avoid? I got a potential job offer up there that's going to pay a LOT of money and debating whether or not to take it - any advice would help :) Tanks!

Ok - what I wanted to say earlier was that you should talk to Cazorp about the Bay area. That's where he lives and I'm sure he'd have great advice about it. He's on vacation this week though, visiting his new Lineage/RL girlfriend, so you'll have to wait until he gets back :P

I live in the Bay Area and I would say stay away from the urban centers. It costs an arm and leg to live here and with all the commute options its better to live in the outlying areas. Pick somewhere like Walnut Creek or Livermore to stay at since its cheaper and the its still close to the hot spots (i.e. SF, Oakland, San Jose).

  4. ahhh lol ok Celtic and anony....lol...the job was in Oakland and the problem is that it's a type of job that requires me to be closeby for emergencies....as for expense wise, i was going to be offered very close to 6 figures - is that not enough to live there? Please let me know! :)

6 figures is nice...wish I could get a job with six figures. I know for a fact a friend of mine just bought a condo right across from Oakland (i.e. Alameda) for around 300k. If your looking to rent in Oakland I say look for a place around Lake Merritt or the hillside. It will be a bit pricey but it will be worth it for the view and the convenience. Anywhere else is pretty ghetto. I dont live too far from Lake Merritt myself (about 1 mile away) so I enjoy a good jog around it every now and then when the weather is nice (its about a 3 mile loop).

  6. oh sweet - thanks for the heads up - that's exactly what I look for info-wise when I move to new areas that I've never been too - I just don't want to end up in a place where I"ll get robbed, mugged, or shot - that's my greatest fear - I'll prolly post more should i get the job
